URMC is a student organization at Cornell University that works to promote black, latinx, and native representation in computing. I have been a general member since freshman year and joined the executive board that spring as Events Chair. I then became Design Chair for 3 semesters before serving as President for 2 semesters.
As design chair, I helped create 100+ flyers. I also worked with other sub-teams to promote the organization on social media platforms. Additionally, I redesigned the website and created swag designs to allow members to show their support.
As president, I managed an executive board of 30 members, met with faculty and advisors, and onboarded new members to the organization.
Here are some of my flyers that I created during my time as design chair.

First hoodies
These hoodies were made for the executive board members and were the first customized hoodies created for the organization. I co-designed them with a previous design chair.

Tote bags
I designed the totes bags which were the prize for our M&M mentorship program.
Pictured is my mentorship family winning for meeting up the most times during the semester!
These are two merch designs that I made for our executive board members during my presidency while the new design chairs were onboarding to the role.

During the summer of 2022 I redesigned the organization’s website to be more modern and align with org values.
I started this process by doing an audit of the existing website and synthesizing my own thoughts with those of other executive board members that were collected during one of our weekly meetings.

URMC was the reason I got into product design, so thank you to all the mentors who believed in me before I believed in myself.
This was my first real experience designing with and for other people. This organization means the world to me not only for the mission statement, but for the mentors I met along my journey.
Having the privilege to become president gave me a newfound confidence in my ability to lead and be a mentor to others, which led to a passion for giving back to my community.
